A meeting with Academician Mukhtar Imanov and renowned poet Rustam Behrudi was held with students at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).

Organized at the initiative of the Faculty of Digital Economy, the meeting was dedicated to the topic “Literature in the Digital Age.”

Opening the event, Elman Jafarov, Associate Professor and Dean of the Faculty, emphasized the importance of the parallel development of humanitarian thought and literature alongside digital transformation in the modern era. He highlighted the significant role of literature in shaping young people’s worldview, fostering deep thinking and critical analysis skills, and instilling moral and ethical values.

In his address, Academician Mukhtar Imanov approached the concept of readership from a different perspective, noting that the reader’s daily struggle is, in essence, an internal journey of personal development through knowledge and reflection. He stated that innovation, by removing the boundaries of time and space, creates a more open and inclusive environment. According to him, this environment not only facilitates the transfer of knowledge but also contributes to the formation of personality, values, and ways of thinking. He stressed that innovation is not limited to technology alone, but represents a value that expands intellectual horizons and makes a tangible contribution to society.

Mukhtar Imanov also spoke about the literary work of Rustam Behrudi, emphasizing the poet’s distinctive poetic vision within the Turkic world. He noted that Behrudi’s works have attracted international interest and have been published in countries such as Germany, Türkiye, France, and others.

Addressing the audience, poet Rustam Behrudi stated that poetry is not an ordinary profession, but a spiritual vocation that distinguishes it from other fields. He emphasized that poetry cannot be taught, as it is formed within the individual and connected to creative essence. He noted that poetry is not only the language of the mind, but also of the soul, and that words can influence readers only when they emerge from a person’s inner world. The poet underlined that despite changes in time, poetry continues to preserve inner truth and sustain it through language.

During the meeting, Rustam Behrudi recited several of his well-known poems, creating an emotional atmosphere in the hall. The students listened with great interest and asked numerous questions.

At the conclusion of the event, Rustam Behrudi signed his books and presented them to the students.
